AED 6 Billion The WADI Project to Add 3,950 Homes on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island

The WADI mixed-use waterfront development on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, featuring residential buildings, landscaped spaces and a marina along Yas Canal.

A new AED 6 billion mixed-use development is ready to expand Yas Island’s residential project, with Cosmo Developments launching The WADI, a large-scale community planned along Yas Canal in Abu Dhabi.

The development will span approximately 140,700 square metres and is going to include 3,950 residential units, including studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The master-planned community will combine residential, hospitality, commercial and leisure uses. Plans include a hotel, yacht marina, retail and dining outlets, sports amenities, gyms, spas and dedicated spaces for children.

Cosmo Developments is a joint venture between Flag Holding Group and Reportage Group, with Reportage responsible for the project’s development, delivery and long-term management.

The project is being designed around a central landscaped valley, with the master plan placing an emphasis on open spaces, pedestrian friendly areas and outdoor amenities. It is going to have an underground parking facility , allowing more surface space for open areas and recreational facilities.

The WADI is also going to have a six-kilometre running route and a yacht marina along the waterfront. Residents can expect a beautiful view of the ghaf and palm trees, while planted balconies will be integrated into the residential buildings.

The development’s location along Yas Canal places it within the wider Yas Island development zone. According to the developer, the project is approximately five minutes by car from Zayed International Airport and nine minutes from Ferrari World Yas Island.

The project adds another major residential component to Yas Island, where residential communities are increasingly being integrated with hospitality, entertainment, retail and leisure uses.

With 3,950 homes planned alongside a marina, hotel, commercial space and recreational facilities, The WADI is being developed as an integrated waterfront community rather than a standalone residential project.
