AI in Real Estate Gains Ground at Construction Sites, CREDAI NATCON 2026
AI in real estate is moving beyond demonstrations and into some of the day-to-day work involved in building and selling property. That was one of the themes discussed by developers and technology professionals at CREDAI NATCON 2026 in Kolkata, where speakers looked at how AI is being used across construction, sales and customer-related activities.
The three-day event is taking place from October 2 to 4 at ITC Royal Bengal. An AI and Innovation Hub at the convention is bringing together companies working in areas including PropTech, construction technology, smart buildings and SaaS platforms. The focus is on technologies that can be used in actual real estate operations.
AI in real estate construction and project monitoring
Construction is one area where developers are looking at more practical uses for AI. Tools for digital monitoring and automated checks can give project teams more visibility over work taking place at a site and help flag issues during the construction process.
Amit Modi, director at County Group, discussed the use of AI for quality checks and robotic monitoring. He said these technologies can take some of the routine work out of inspections. He also mentioned 3D printing as another technology being explored by the industry for construction.
The discussion is not limited to construction sites. Developers are also looking at how AI can help them make better use of information gathered from potential buyers. Salil Kumar, director of sales and marketing at CRC Group, said enquiry data and customer buying patterns can provide useful insights into what buyers are seeking. Such information can also be used to keep track of sales activity and project performance.
For Akhil Saraf, founder and CEO of Reloy, the usefulness of AI comes down to whether it produces a clear business benefit. He pointed to sales, marketing and construction as areas where technology and data could help companies improve their operations, particularly when the results can be measured through factors such as sales or costs.
CREDAI president Shekhar Patel also spoke about the role technology could play as India's cities continue to develop and housing needs change. The wider discussion at NATCON 2026 showed that the industry's interest in AI is increasingly tied to specific tasks rather than technology for its own sake. Construction monitoring, quality checks, sales activity and customer information were among the areas discussed at the event.
