Ajdan Unveils $1.5 Billion Khobar Pier Project in Saudi Arabia
Ajdan Real Estate Development Company has announced a SAR 5.6 billion ($1.5 billion) waterfront project in Al Khobar, on Saudi Arabia's eastern coast. Named Khobar Pier, the development will include residential properties, hotels, shops and leisure facilities along the Arabian Gulf.
The project is being developed with Ashraq Development, the Tourism Development Fund and Aljazira Capital. Its plans cover both residential and hospitality properties, alongside spaces for shopping and recreation.
689 Homes Planned for Khobar Pier
The proposed development spans around 671,000 square metres, with an 850-metre waterfront. The planned developed area is approximately 305,000 square metres.
Khobar Pier will include 689 residential units, with luxury homes and villas among the planned properties. A further 690 hotel rooms are planned, along with 33,000 square metres of commercial space.
The wider development will also have restaurants, retail outlets, green spaces and sports facilities. Water-based activities are included in the plans, making leisure another part of the project alongside housing and hotels.
Waterways and Gulf Views Feature in the Plans
Khobar Pier's design incorporates waterways connected around a central island. An elevated hill is also planned, offering views of the Arabian Gulf.
The plans bring homes, hotels and commercial spaces together along the waterfront. Ajdan has not yet announced when the project is expected to open or provided a construction timeline.
Ajdan's Wider Development Plans
Khobar Pier adds to Ajdan's existing activity in Saudi Arabia. Khobar Pier is the latest addition to Ajdan's development plans in Saudi Arabia. The company already has projects in Al Khobar, including Ajdan Waterfront and Fairmont Ajdan. Its portfolio also includes Ajdan Island and developments in Riyadh and Jeddah.
The project comes as Saudi Arabia continues to pursue its Vision 2030 goals. The programme focuses on diversifying the economy and growing the tourism sector. Once developed, Khobar Pier will add more residential properties, hotel rooms and commercial space to Al Khobar's coastline.
