Attacq and Tricolt Break Ground on Aspire Waterfall City

Construction has started on Aspire Waterfall City, a R624-million residential project by Attacq and Tricolt Group in Waterfall City, South Africa. The project was launched in 2025, and the developers have now moved ahead with work on the site. Engineering News reported the groundbreaking on 12 October 2026.

More than 76% of the planned homes have already been sold, according to figures reported by the developers. The project will include 217 apartments and penthouses, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2028.

What Aspire Waterfall City Will Offer

Aspire Waterfall City is part of the larger Waterfall City development. The area has homes, offices, shops and leisure spots. Mall of Africa is also close by.

Plans for Aspire Waterfall City include a restaurant, a swimming pool with a bar, fire pits and bomas. These facilities will form part of the residential offering once the development is complete.

Construction is expected to take around 22 months. The current completion target is the second quarter of 2028, although the project is still some way from being ready for residents.

Buyer Interest and Rental Options

The sales recorded before construction began suggest that buyers have shown interest in the project at an early stage. Attacq development executive David Oosthuizen said the location was one of the factors attracting buyers. These include people looking for a home in the area as well as investors considering the property's rental potential.

The developers also intend to allow short-term letting through approved operators. This could give owners another way to use their apartments when they are not occupying them, subject to the arrangements set out for the development.

Oosthuizen also referred to the nearby Ellipse development when discussing short-term rentals in Waterfall City. He said the experience there had shown the potential of this rental model within the precinct.

With construction now under way, the focus will shift to delivering the planned apartments and shared facilities. For Attacq and Tricolt Group, the next major milestone is the project's expected completion in 2028.
