BlackRock and Dash Living have acquired a 26-unit residential building in Kinshicho, eastern Tokyo. It is the fourth property the partners have purchased together in the Japanese capital since they began working together in 2024. The purchase price and seller's identity have not been disclosed.

The property, named Dash Living Kinshicho, will offer furnished accommodation with flexible rental periods. Guests can book daily or monthly stays. The company is targeting business travellers, people needing corporate housing, professionals moving to Tokyo and independent travellers.

Aaron Lee, founder and chief executive of Dash Living, announced the acquisition in a LinkedIn post on 16 October. The property is located at 1-chōme-13-7 Kinshi in Sumida City. It is around a six-minute walk from Kinshicho Station, which serves the JR Sobu Line and the Hanzomon subway line.

The building has several apartment layouts. These include studios, units with a separate dining-kitchen area and one-bedroom apartments. Some larger units also have a study.

The booking website lists a 25-square-metre one-bedroom apartment at JPY 250,000 per month. The larger deluxe one-bedroom unit, measuring 40 square metres, costs JPY 375,000 a month.

Kinshicho Station is surrounded by shopping centres and retail outlets. Trains from the station also connect passengers to Otemachi, Akihabara, Shibuya and Shinjuku.

Fourth property purchase since 2024

The two companies entered Tokyo's rental housing market together in July 2024, when they bought a 29-unit residential property in Higashi Komagata. Their next purchase was Dash Living Nihonbashi East, announced in February 2025.

In December that year, they added Dash Living Shinjuku Sanchome Syforme with local development partner Syla Holdings.

The Kinshicho purchase brings their jointly acquired Tokyo portfolio to approximately 126 rooms, according to Mingtiandi's calculation.

Dash Living operates 45 properties across Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. Lee said the business has US$1.1 billion in assets under management on an invested and committed basis. The latest acquisition adds another property to its growing residential accommodation portfolio in Japan.
