Boydens Expands Block Management Services into London
Colchester-based property firm Boydens has expanded its block management operations into London after securing its first clients in the capital. The move builds on the company's established property management business, extending further into Essex and Suffolk where it manages more than 3,000 units.
The company is expanding its block management services for residential property owners and organisations responsible for managing shared buildings and communal areas.
Boydens expands its block management portfolio
The company’s nine-member block management team operates from its head office in Colchester. Its portfolio includes traditional leasehold properties, converted historic buildings and purpose-built apartment blocks containing between six and 120 units.
Boydens also manages communal areas within residential estates that are predominantly made up of freehold properties. Its wider portfolio includes private estates featuring houses and apartments.
The company has experience in dealing with such buildings as mills, hotels, schools, malt houses, and a brewery. The firm’s current regional clients include Colchester, Chelmsford, Felixstowe, Ipswich, and Sudbury.
Its first London instruction is a prestigious residential development close to St Paul’s Cathedral. The appointment marks a new stage in the company’s geographical expansion, bringing its block management services into one of the UK’s major property markets.
Euan Shepherd promoted to Assistant Manager
Alongside the expansion, Boydens has promoted Euan Shepherd to Assistant Manager. He will oversee the day-to-day running of the block management service.
Shepherd has worked at the company for four years and has received several promotions during that period. Managing Director Philip Boyden said the appointment recognises his contribution and commitment to the team since joining the business.
Shepherd said the department was handling several new clients, including the firm’s first in London. He also highlighted the appeal of Boydens’ full block management service to developers, landlords, freeholders and Right to Manage companies.
These clients have differing responsibilities for residential buildings, from overseeing shared areas to managing properties on behalf of owners and residents.
Further opportunities in London
Boydens plans to build on its presence in the capital while continuing to serve its existing regional clients. Shepherd said the company had further opportunities in development but that maintaining service standards for current clients would remain a priority as the business takes on additional work.
The London expansion adds to Boydens’ established operations across Essex and Suffolk. With its first capital-based clients secured and a new management appointment in place, the company is positioning its block management division for further growth.
