Lomond Acquires City Residential to Expand Liverpool Estate Agency Business

Lomond has expanded its presence in Liverpool with the acquisition of City Residential, marking its second estate agency purchase in the city. The deal follows the group’s earlier acquisition of Homesure and forms part of its wider expansion across north-west England.

Founded by Alan Bevan in 2001, City Residential began as a property development and consultancy business. It later moved into residential sales and lettings, building a strong presence in Liverpool city centre over the past 25 years.

The agency’s local market knowledge and focus on city-centre homes have helped establish its position in Liverpool’s residential property sector.

Lomond Acquires City Residential to Expand Liverpool Presence

Following the acquisition, Homesure will take over the management of City Residential’s property portfolio. The arrangement brings together two agencies with different areas of strength, allowing Lomond to serve both Liverpool city centre and the wider surrounding market.

City Residential has concentrated on the city-centre residential market, while Homesure provides a broader presence across Liverpool and nearby areas. The acquisition therefore adds to Lomond’s existing operations rather than marking its first move into the city.

For City Residential, the sale marks a change in ownership after 25 years under Bevan’s leadership. He said the business had grown through its focus on clients and its understanding of Liverpool city centre. He also expressed confidence in Lomond as the new owner, highlighting the companies’ shared approach to client care and attention to detail.

The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Lomond plans further acquisitions

Lomond intends to continue expanding through acquisitions, according to David Alexander, the group’s chief revenue officer. He welcomed City Residential into the business, pointing to its reputation and the way its city-centre focus complements Homesure’s existing operations.

Alexander also said the group would continue looking for established estate agencies interested in growing and developing their businesses as part of its wider network.

The latest deal reflects Lomond’s strategy of expanding through established regional property agencies. By bringing City Residential into its portfolio, the group strengthens its position in Liverpool’s residential sales and lettings market while extending its reach across the region.

Further acquisitions in Liverpool and other markets remain part of the company’s stated growth plans.
