Mireka Seascape Begins Main Construction in Sri Lanka, Appoints Sanken Construction
Mireka Seascape has moved into its main construction phase in Dodanduwa, southern Sri Lanka.Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC, the project's developer, has appointed Sanken Construction as the main contractor. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 15 October 2026, signifying the start of this stage of work.
The project has already passed two critical milestones. Piling work is complete, and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained. These include clearances from the Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management Department and the Urban Development Authority (UDA).
Construction is now progressing towards the project's planned completion in November 2028. The developer has pointed to Sanken Construction's experience and resources as important factors in carrying out the work and meeting its expected standards.
Mireka Seascape brings 168 homes to Sri Lanka's southern coast
Launched in June 2025, Mireka Seascape will comprise 168 luxury apartments and villas. The development is located in Dodanduwa, between Galle and Hikkaduwa. Its setting offers views of the Indian Ocean and Rathgama Lake.
The project is planned as more than a residential address.The facilities will comprise swimming pools for adults and children, fitness centre, sauna and steam rooms, and a yoga deck. In addition, residents will have access to a bistro bar, sky lounge and viewing deck.
Other planned amenities include a multi-function room, children's play areas and a lounge for working from home. Concierge services are also part of the development. The project announcement additionally describes access to a beach suitable for swimming.
The development is intended to appeal to people looking for a holiday home, a second residence or an investment property. However, the announcement does not provide a sales breakdown or figures for expected rental returns.
Overseas Realty is also known for developing the World Trade Center Colombo and Havelock City Integrated Mixed-Use Development. Mireka Seascape expands its residential portfolio beyond Colombo, bringing its latest project to Sri Lanka's southern coast.
With piling completed, regulatory approvals secured and Sanken Construction appointed, the project has entered its next stage. Its progress over the coming months will determine how the development advances towards the planned November 2028 completion date.
