Sundaram Alternates Raises Total Investment in VRX Homes to ₹160 Crore
Sundaram Alternates has invested another ₹80 crore in VRX Homes, taking its total investment in the Chennai-based residential developer to ₹160 crore. The additional funding comes as VRX Homes continues work on its residential projects and prepares for further apartment handovers across Tamil Nadu.
The latest investment follows an earlier commitment of ₹80 crore. The money will support the developer’s ongoing projects, which include apartments in Thirumazhisai and Porur, along with villa plots in Oragadam. These locations form part of the company’s residential development plans in the Chennai region.
VRX Homes continues apartment handovers
VRX Homes has delivered 986 apartments and started the handover process for another 722 units. This brings the total number of apartments delivered or entering the handover stage to 1,708.
The developer is also targeting the delivery of another 820 apartments during 2026. Achieving this target will be an important step as the company continues to move its residential projects towards completion.
Its current development plans include 1,352 apartments across Thirumazhisai and Porur. In Oragadam, the company plans to develop 146 villa plots. Each location adds to its residential portfolio in Tamil Nadu.
The company has also announced the start of possession at a smart home community that it describes as the largest of its kind in the state. Further details about the community were not provided in the available information.
Additional investment backs future development
Sundaram Alternates has increased its total investments in VRX Homes to ₹160 crore by making this latest investment. While this announcement mentions the amount, it does not clarify any form of the investment made.
VRX Homes has also entered into a partnership with Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, who serves as its brand ambassador.
The timing of the investment is significant for the developer as it works on existing projects while planning further deliveries. Its target of handing over 820 additional apartments in 2026 will be worth watching as the year progresses.
For now, the additional capital is expected to support VRX Homes’ development plans in Thirumazhisai, Porur and Oragadam. The company’s progress on apartment deliveries and its ability to meet its stated targets will offer a clearer picture of how its residential portfolio develops over the coming months.
