Panasonic Life Solutions India and ANACITY have signed an agreement to work on smart-home solutions for residential communities in India. The agreement was signed in Bengaluru on October 31.

The partnership brings together Panasonic's IoT products and ANACITY's community management platform. The companies plan to connect home security and access systems with the digital services used by residents and property management teams.

The work will initially focus on gated communities and condominiums. Visitor management, security and access control are among the areas covered by the proposed integration.

For residents, the aim is to make these services easier to access. The companies also want to make some of the routine work involved in managing residential communities more efficient.

What the Panasonic-ANACITY Partnership Involves

Panasonic will bring its security-related IoT products and technology to the collaboration. ANACITY will provide the platform through which these systems can be connected with community management services.

ANACITY, part of the ANAROCK Group, provides technology platforms for residential and commercial real estate businesses in India and the Middle East. Its system also supports the integration of products from different technology providers into developers' existing digital platforms.

Yoshiyuki Kato, CEO and Managing Director of Panasonic Life Solutions India, said the partnership would first be tested through a proof of concept. The exercise will help both companies understand whether the proposed integration works technically and offers practical value to customers.

Masaaki Isoda, CTO and Managing Executive Officer of Panasonic Electric Works Corporation, said the company is working on solutions focused on safety, security, well-being and sustainable living. He also pointed to the possibility of taking the services developed through the collaboration from India to other markets.

ANACITY's Shajai Jacob said residents should not have to deal with separate systems for home access and community services. The company's aim is to bring these functions together through its mobile platform, alongside Panasonic's connected technology.

Initial Work Will Focus on Testing

The agreement does not mark the rollout of a completed product. The companies will first work on system integration and develop a proof of concept.

They will then assess its technical performance and the value it could offer customers. These findings will help determine the next stage of the partnership.

For now, the focus is on finding a practical way to connect home security technology with the services used to manage residential communities.
